May 20, 2017 (Saturday):  Dora Cemetery Association 131st annual meeting to be held at 47 South Cedar Street, Coquille, Oregon at Rivers Edge RV common room. Review of last years annual meeting minutes, secretary/treasurer report, updates and election of officers. February 20, 2010 (Friday): Meet at Frazier’s Bakery in downtown Coquille, Oregon at 7 a.m.  Alternatively, meet in the Dora Cemetery around 8:30 a.m.  Mowing and burning.

May 15, 2010 Dora Cemetery Association annual meeting held at the Dora Public Library. Association gives Dora Library $ 1,470 to photocopy its historical records. Cemetery changes from payment of ground maintenance fees to all volunteer.

May 22, 2010 Dora Cemetery Association members gather to mow, clean cemetery grounds, and cut lots of brush.

July 6, 2010 The Dora Cemetery Board of Directors have a telephone conference to explore the idea of drilling a well and removal of stum19ps on the one acre.

August 2010 Dale Wilson’s crew removes all of the stumps on the one acre of land donated to the cemetery by Lone Rock Timber Company. Dale pays all of the expenses for this project.

August 2010 Robyn Greenlund sets up a webpage for the Dora Cemetery with the assistance of Ernie Krewson. Ernie Krewson maintains and improves the website. Website is located: https://doracemeteryassociation.wordpress.com  Several loads of gravel are put on the cemetery road.

September 2010 Dora Cemetery Find A Grave has approximately 260 interments entered. Ernie Krewson adds over 250 interments not recorded on the website. It includes the names, burial dates, etc. for all interments. All interments at the cemetery have been added many with relationship links. The website is kept current. September 28, 2010 The Dora Cemetery Board of Directors have a telephone conference.

October 2010 A new e-mail address is established for Dora Cemetery by Ernie Krewson which is dora_cemetery_association@comcast.net to discuss Julius L. Benham Trust.

October 16, 2010 Dora Cemetery Association members gather to mow, clean cemetery grounds, and cut a whole lot more brush.

December 3, 2010 Annual Dora Cemetery Board of Directors meeting. Approval of the cemetery’s e-mail address of dora_cemetery_association@comcast.net and letter heading. Discussion on developing website, updating Dora Find A Grave, and Julius L. Benham Trust.

December 2010 Dale Wilson’s crew burns all of the stumps on the one acre leaving it with a park like sitting.

May 21, 2011 The Dora Cemetery Association during the May 21, 2011, annual meeting increases the price of a gravesite from $ 200 to $ 250 effective January 1, 2012, amending Article 25. Gravesite recovery project increases number of gravesites available for sale by 50.

June 1, 2011 The Dora Cemetery Board of Directors has a telephone conference.

June 22, 2011 The Dora Cemetery Board of Directors has a telephone conference.

June 2011 Tom and Ernie Krewson paint all 12 of the benches located in the gazebo.

July 2011 Linda and Jerry Smith and Tom Nugent plow and seed the one acre donated to the cemetery by Lone Rock Timber Company.

August 25, 2011 The Dora Cemetery Board of Directors meet at the Coos Curry Electric Cooperative’s board room located at 220 South Mill Avenue, Coquille, Oregon. Article 17 revised to allow a director to preside over all meetings and oversee projects in the absence of the president.

August 2011 Dale Wilson oversees the drilling of our new well. It produces 24 gallons of quality water per minute. The flag pole is relocated near the gazebo and close to the veteran’s bulletin board. The veteran’s bulletin board is cleaned, painted and a new window door is installed. A list of the names of the veterans interred in our cemetery is placed in the bulletin board.

August 2011 Dale Wilson plumbs electricity to the gazebo, installs an electrical outlet, and adds a light for the flag allowing it to fly 24/7.

October 22, 2011 Dora Cemetery Association members gather to mow and clean cemetery grounds.

December 2, 2011 The Dora Cemetery Board of Directors meet at the Coos Curry Electric Cooperative’s board room located at 220 South Mill Avenue, Coquille, Oregon. The board approves the purchase of a 10 x 12 storage shed up to $ 2, 500. The storage shed to be built by Back Yard Building, LLC located in Coquille, Oregon.

January 27, 2012 The Dora Cemetery Board of Directors meets at the cemetery. The purchase and funding for the 2 Sthil 250R grass trimmers is approved. The cemetery will pay for the two Sthil grass trimmers and storage shed and be reimbursed from the Julius L. Benham Trust. Ernie Krewson will request the funds from the trust.

February 2012 The two Stihl 250R weed trimmers are purchased from J.D. Saw Shop, Inc. located in Myrtle Point, Oregon Inc. for $ 947.

February 2012 A two day project cleaning around and liming the cemetery trees located at the northwest corner of the cemetery, debris burned, and the two green fiberglass sheds are removed. Cemetery crew performing this work is Dale and Lyle Wilson, Tom and Ernie Krewson, Jeff Wilson, Clell Laird, and Chris Krewson.

April 2012 Cemetery maintenance crew spent the day mowing, cleaning, and trimming around the grave markers. Work crew is Tom and Ernie Krewson, Dale and Lyle Wilson, Jeff Wilson, Clell Laird, and Chris Krewson.

May 18, 2012 workparty Cemetery maintenance crew spent the day mowing, cleaning, trimming around grave markers and overseeing the new shed being brought into the cemetery. Work crew was Dale Wilson, Lyle Wilson, Jeff Wilson, Ernie Krewson, Patrick Neal, and Anna Bell Neal.

May 19, 2012 Dora Cemetery Association’s 126th annual meeting at Coos Curry Electric Cooperative’s office in Coquille, Oregon.

May 2012 The 10 x 12 storage shed is delivered to the cemetery by Back Yard Buildings.

May 19, 2012 The 126th annual Dora Cemetery Association meeting is held in Coquille, Oregon at Coos Curry Electric’s board room located at the ole Georgia Pacific mill site (220 South Mill Avenue). Grave prices increased to $ 400 and administrative fee increased to $ 50. Lisa Tine from Oregon Pacific Bank joined our meeting to answer questions on their handling of the Julius L. Benham Trust. June 27 (Wednesday), 2012 Workparty from 9:30 AM to approximately 3 PM mowing, cleaning, and painting. Present: Tom Krewson, Ernie Krewson, Clell Laird

June 28 (Thursday), 2012 8 AM to 2 PM Running water and electrical lines from gazebo to pump house. Water and electrical lines ran from gazebo to pump house successfully with 2 water faucets installed. This will give us fresh water enabling us to start on our grave marker project. The grave marker project is supported by a grant from the Oregon Commission on Historic Cemeteries and Oregon Parks and Recreation Department. Present: Tom Krewson, Ernie Krewson, Lyle Wilson, Dale Wilson, and Clell Laird.

August 17 (Friday), 2012 8 AM to noon Ground maintenance crew of Tom Krewson, Ernie Krewson, Dale Wilson, Lyle Wilson, and Clell Laird mowed and cleaned cemetery. Additionally, they installed an additional 4 faucets at the cemetery.

August 18 (Saturday), 2012, 9AM to 2 PM Grave marker project cleaning, leveling and resetting grave markers. John Frazier demonstrated how to level several grave markers giving everyone the opportunity to be able to level them. Ernie Krewson gave a couple demonstrations of how to clean grave markers with “do’s and don’ts” of which chemicals to use. Present: Tom Krewson, Betty Krewson, Becki Krewson, Kallie Krewson, Clell Laird, Burton Wilson, Colleen Wilson, Patrick Neal, Anna Bell Neal, Darrel Green, Jean Seidel, Linda Smith, Bill Gardner, and John Frazier.

August 24 (Friday), 2012 Dale Wilson, Lyle Wilson, Jeff Wilson, and Tom Krewson spray obnoxious weeds, poison oak, cut trees close to fence (west side permission granted by Lone Rock Timber Company), and fill in trenches left when faucets were put in place.

October 19, 2012 Tom and Ernie Krewson clean and repair grave markers at the cemetery. Mount garden hose on mobile devise so it can be easily transported to different locations within the cemetery.

December 7, 2012 Friday 10– 12 (Board meeting – directors only). The board decided to allow those residing in Voter District # 28 (voter district in existence as of May 19, 1979) to purchase grave spaces in the Dora Cemetery. Voter District # 28 includes Fairview, Laverne Park, Hungry Mountain, McKinley, Cherry Creek Park, Cherry Creek, and Middle Creek. It doesn’t include Myrtle Point, Norway, Lee Valley or Gravelford. Also, the board approved John Frazier as the only person who could open or close a grave site in our cemetery for traditional or cremated remains or place a grave marker in the cemetery. All board members were present

December 7 (Friday), 2012 11 AM work party at Dora Cemetery. Those working were Tom and Ernie Krewson, Dale Wilson, and Clell Laird.

March 1 (Friday), 2013 The following announcement posted at the Dora Cemetery:

The Dora Cemetery Association (DCA) annual meeting of May 19, 2012, approved the following:

  1. Grave site prices are $ 400.
  2. Administrative fee to be paid prior to interment is $ 50.

The DCA board of directors in their December 7, 2013, meeting made the following changes:

  1. All interments whether of traditional or cremation are to be done only by our sexton, John Frazier. John Frazier contact information is (541) 572-5612.
  2. All placements of grave markers are to be placed in our cemetery by our sexton, John Frazier.
  3. Burial eligibility rules now include Voting District #28 as it existed as of May 19, 1979. This includes the general areas of Fairview, Laverne Park, Hungry Mountain, McKinley, Cherry Creek Park, Cherry Creek, and Middle Creek. It doesn’t include Myrtle Point, Norway, Lee Valley or Gravelford.

April 5 (Friday), 2013 Cemetery maintenance workparty included Tom and Ernie Krewson, and Bill Gardner. Mowing cemetery.

April 25 (Thursday), 2013 Cemetery maintenance workparty included Dale and Lyle Wilson, Jeff Wilson, Tom Krewson and Bill Gardner. Mowing, etc.

May 17, 2013 (Friday) Cemetery maintenance workparty included Dale and Lyle Wilson, Tom and Ernie Krewson and Bill Gardner. Mowed and cleaned cemetery. Also, painted new building and pressure washed picnic table.

May 18 (Saturday), 2013, Dora Cemetery Association annual meeting being held at Coos Curry Electric Cooperative’s board room in Coquille, Oregon at 10 A.M.
The address is 220 South Mill Avenue. Administrative fee increased to $ 150.

September 6 (Friday), 2013 Ernie and Tom Krewson mow cemetery, pain facial board of gazebo, and place surveillance sign and camera next to storage sheds.

November 9, 2013 Ernie and Tom Krewson along with Bill Gardiner mow and clean up cemetery for preparation of Veteran’s Day. Flags were put out. Tom Krewson removed the flags after Veteran’s Day.

December 6 (Friday), 2013, Dora Cemetery Association Directors meeting at Coos Curry Electric Cooperative’s board room in Coquille, Oregon at TBA. The address is 220 South Mill Avenue.  The meeting is only for the board members.

January 28, 2014 Completion of a black chain link fence 618 feet long with two four foot gates.  The job was completed by West Coast Fencing.

February 11, 2014 – Meet at 8:30 Veterans Day at the cemetery to place flags on the 84 veteran’s grave sites.  Also, mark and place grave markers in the cemetery and general maintenance.

April 10, 2014 – Dale Wilson, Ernie Krewson, Clell Laird and Tom Krewson mow and clean cemetery preparation for Daloris Peterson’s funeral being held on April 12, 2014.

April 11, 2014 – Ernie and Tom Krewson take 6 Coquille High School students to the cemetery to level and clean grave markers.  The high school students were Mariah Ray, Sabrina Smith, Savanna McAdams, Daniel Davis-Hedge, Wyatt Yates, and Gavin Clawson.  This is part of the 2014 grave marker project sponsored by the Historical Cemetery State of Oregon project. May 3, 2014 (Saturday) – Maintenance crew working in cemetery from 8 a.m. till noon.

May 16, 2014 (Friday) – General mowing, clean up, etc. Dale Wilson, Ernie & Tom Krewson and Clell Laird.

May 17 (Saturday), 2014 – Dora Cemetery Association meeting at Coos Curry Electric Cooperative’s board room in Coquille, Oregon at 10 a.m. The address is 220 South Mill Avenue.

May 24, 2014 (Saturday) A flag is placed on the grave of each of the veterans interred in our cemetery.  Light maintenance work performed. Refer to Veteran listing – Dora Cemetery Veteran Listing

June 4, 2014 – Board of Directors meeting to discuss removal of cemetery trees located in the northwestern part of the cemetery.  All voted to harvest the trees with Larry West being the logger and Tom Krewson coordinator.  The two bank accounts held at Oregon Pacific Bank will have two signatures required to withdrawal funds.

June 28 (Saturday), 2014 – Tom Krewson, Ernie Krewson, Brent Krewson, Jeff Wilson, Dale Wilson, Craig West and Larry West removed trees located in the North west part of the cemetery.  Many of these trees were white fir dying from the top down threatening to fall into the cemetery and commit damage to the cemetery’s grave markers.  The project was very successful removing 2 1/2 truck loads of logs.  Larry West donated his time and tractor for yarding the trees.

June 30 and July 1, 2014 – Logs trucked to Roseburg Lumber Company’s mill located in Coquille, Oregon.

July 3, 2014 – Dale Wilson using his excavator piles up the limbs, tree tops, etc. into numerous piles to be burned this winter.

August 2 (Saturday), 2014 – 8:30 a.m. till noon 8:30 a.m. till noon. Come help us clean and level grave markers. Do you have a specific grave marker that needs cleaning, repaired, or leveled? This is the time to have it done for nothing or a small nominal donation. Contact Ernie Krewson at (503) 931-6266 to volunteer. Your assistance will help toward the betterment of our cemetery and the completion of the number of volunteer hours needed for the completion of our grant. November 10, 2014 – Tom, Brent and Ernie Krewson place flags on veterans interred in cemetery

December 5 (Friday), 2014 – Annual DCA board meeting at Coos Curry Electric’s Coquille board room.  Board members only.

December 5, 2014 – Dale and Lyle Wilson and Ernie and Tom Krewson spend the afternoon at the cemetery burning the limbs/tops slash left over from the logging.  The burning went well.

February 20, 2015 (Friday): Meet at Frazier’s Bakery in downtown Coquille, Oregon at 7 a.m.  Alternatively, meet in the Dora Cemetery around 8:30 a.m.  Mowing and burning.
